Taking the best care of your horses is your top priority. LubriSyn has natural products that are proven to work, and won’t break the bank.
LubriSyn HA is an oral, liquid form of hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is the main constituent of joint fluid. LubriSyn HA maintains healthy joints through daily oral use by improving the quality of synovial fluid that cushions and lubricates your horse's joints.
Your horse's joint fluid deteriorates with age and exercise. In fact, the more you work your horse, the faster joint fluid degenerates and the more likely bone-on-bone inflammation with occur. LubriSynHA replenishes and restores joint fluid, without the stress, pain, and expense of regularly scheduled joint injections. LubriSynHA also enhances joint health when you do choose to use injectables.
Both products are drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat arthritis and joint inflammation and are administered by injection. Legend is hyaluronic acid and formulated for intravenous or intramuscular use. Adequan is polysulfated chondroitin sulfate also formulated for intramuscular use. Both products result in a rise in blood concentration after administration followed by a return to baseline levels unless the drug is re-administered (Popot et al, 2004).
No. Cosequin is mainly made up of glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate. Cosequin works on the cartilage while LubriSynHA is beneficial to the joint fluid. It is important to know that cartilage heals best when the joint fluid that surrounds it is healthy and viscous. LubriSynHA provides the best possible joint fluid environment for healthy cartilage.
The liquid form is more readily and quickly absorbed in the tissues of your horse's mouth and throat, providing joint support in as little as 7 to 14 days. Powdered or pill forms of HA must go through the entire equine digestive tract, breaking down the HA molecule and taking far longer for any remaining available HA to get to the joint fluid.
Unlike other forms of liquid HA made from animal sources (e.g., rooster combs), LubriSynHA is extracted from a microbial source. This method keeps LubriSynHA free from protein contamination that can cause other HA products to break down and lose their effectiveness.
While many people begin treating their horses with LubriSynHA because they are having mobility challenges or joint pain, LubriSynHA is an excellent preventive supplement. Top Thoroughbred athletes benefit today from receiving LubriSynHA on a daily basis from the time they are weanlings, throughout their careers. Elite Thoroughbred trainers like Todd Pletcher, Tony Dutrow, and Jerry Hollendorfer use LubriSynHA on every horse in their barns.
Because any form of HA that is introduced to the body from an external source only remains in the body for 36 hours, it is important to give your horse LubriSynHA every day. We recommend that you start with a "loading dose" for one week of 30 ml or one fluid ounce. Then you can drop it to the "maintenance" dose of 15 ml (one Tablespoon or 1/2 ounce). The gallon and half-gallon sizes comes with a pump that can be placed directly in the container. Equine "squirt" is a measured 15 ml dose.
The only active ingredient in LubriSynHA is HA. Glucosamine and chondroitin target cartilage, not joint fluid.
You won't find LubriSynHA at the bottom of your horse's feed tub, as you may with many powdered supplements. It can easily be top-dressed on your horse's feed or mixed in with other ingredients.
There is no exact time frame. Most horses observed have improved noticeably within seven to 14 days. Results vary depending on the severity of the joint health problems an dthe dose of LubriSynHA.
"Will the Real HA Please Stand Up?" is a scholarly article that was published in the 2004 edition of The Journal of Applied Nutrition. This article affirms that the high-molecular weight formula of LubriSynHA, extracted from a microbial source, is the most effective form of HA available on the market.
Yes. As with most liquid nutritional supplements, extreme hot or cold temperatures can cause breakdown, rendering the product ineffective. It is recommended that you store LubriSynHA in a temperature range between 40 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, do not freeze LubriSynHA!
No. HA is a naturally-occurring substance in every mammal's body, and will not show up in a post-competition test. However, if you are competing under "zero-supplement" regulations (e.g., FEI), the horse will not suffer any ill effects of LubriSynHA withdrawal during the few days of competition.
LubriSynHA is proud to announce a new formation, LubriSynHA+ with MSM. In studies, MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) has shown to relieve symptoms association with osteoarthritis. MSM and the patented high molecular weight HA have come together to create LubriSynHA+ with MSM, for a natural, synergistic, anti-inflammatory effect.
