Feeding during the first 7 to 8 months of your mare's pregnancy can be the same as for any other horse, as long as forage is always available, nutrients are provided to fill in any nutritional gaps, and the protein quality if high. During that last trimester, however, things begin to change and nutrient requirements increase dramatically.
