This economical pelleted or powdered product has been formulated to save horse owners time and money. Simply mix with your horse's grain or a small amount of moistened beet pulp or hay pellets. California Trace supports optimal hoof growth and healthy coats that resist sun bleaching. A common comment from customers after just a few months of feeding California Trace is that their horses seem to "glow." Hoof and skin problems decrease over time while feeding California Trace.
California Trace is beneficial to add to diets that have mineral imbalances, in particular too much iron in relation to copper and zinc. Iron should not exceed five times the level of zinc; zinc should be between 3 and 5 times the level of copper. Adding California trace to diets high in iron (e.g., high iron hay), can assist in bringing the copper and zinc levels more in line with the iron level.
Based on a comprehensive study of forage and hay, California Trace is formulated to supply the most commonly deficient minerals: Copper, Zinc, and Selenium. Due to the high iron content found in most forages, no iron is added to our product. California Trace is made with high quality, bio-available ingredients for enhanced absorption. It may be fed alone or mixed with grain, beet pulp, or pellets.
California Trace pelleted formula guaranteed analysis per 2 oz. (2 scoop) serving:
Rice Bran, Almond Hull Meal, L-Lysine Hydrochloride, DL-Methionine, Zinc Polysaccharide Complex, Copper Polysaccharide Complex, Vitamin E Supplement, Biotin, Rice Hulls (as a vitamin carrier), Selenium Yeast, Vitamin A Supplement, Naturally Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols, Rosemary Extract, Ascorbic Acid, Citric Acid and Lecithin, Natural & Artificial Flavoring, Ethylene Diamine Dihydroiodide, Iodine.
Mix CA Trace with the horse's usual grain or carrier feed. For best results, divide into morning and evening servings, however the full CA Trace Plus daily serving can be fed once a day if desired.
Feed one scoop (one ounce) per 500 lbs of body weight. For a 1000 lb horse, feed 2 scoops (two ounces) per day. If feeding highly fortified grain products, or another supplement that contains additional vitamins and minerals, the serving size can be reduced in half to simply boost the mineral content.
